Hello everyone,

This is my first post here, please be gentle with me  Cheesy

I think I already know the answer to my question... No, it would not be possible to be scanning for devices while listening for and accepting incoming connection requests at the same time. Yes, I have tried google, but it's an odd thing to search and I wasn't finding anything substantial to confirm my suspicions.

Let it be noted that I am (very!) new to the JSR-82 API, so if this post is missing certain information about my programming circumstances please feel free to ask.
I don't know if it makes a difference but I will be using the RFCOMM profile to connect between devices.

Any help you guys have is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
P.M

Hey, thanks for your reply. That is a good suggestion, however, I stumbled across the answer last night. When a bluetooth device enters 'discovery' mode it occupies all of the bandwidth of the Bluetooth frequencies. This means that when a device is discovering other devices the is no bandwidth left for it to maintain incoming connections.

So, the answer is no. When a device is discovering other devices, its services cannot be discovered or accept incoming connections from other devices.
